Wicked Valentine's Read-A-Thon Vol. 2 Wrap Up

Alright so this is my wrap up post for the Wicked Valentine's Read-A-Thon hosted by MySelfConfessions. I would have to say that I'm a little disappointed with myself I wanted to get further into my TBR Pile but it wasn't to bad ether.

Goals Met:

Read 4-5 Books
Read 1,500 Pages
Read two Kindle Books
Write 5 Reviews

Wow I met all of my goals for this Read-a Thon!

Total Pages Read: 1604!

Books Read:

Ok so I didn't do to bad for this Read-a-Thon but I still could have done better. A lot of the books that I read were for reviews. Most of them were not on the original list of books I posted at the beginning of this Read-a-Thon. I did enjoy almost all of the book in the list that I did read though. I can't wait for the next Read-a-Thon I end up doing and  hopefully next time I'll read more than seven books.

Feburary Random Read (2): Thirst by Claire Farrell

Random Reads is a meme where we pick a random book from our shelf to read within the month. Feel free to do more than one per month, but since a lot of people have a lot of books to read each month, only one is “required” for the meme. I’m on Goodreads so I’m using a combination of the sorting feature and Random.org to pick the book I’m going to read.

This will be my second time with this meme. I really enjoyed doing my first one and hopefully I can do this monthly. Last month's book was Branded by Keary Taylor and I actually really enjoyed it. You can check out my Review for it Here. Anyways on to this month.I am going to be using my Kindle reads again which I have 72 of now.

#31 Thirst by Claire Farrell (on list since Jan. 02, 2014)

 Synopsis:
Ava Delaney calls herself a hybrid - a living, breathing human who happens to have vampire poison running through her veins. The only thing greater than her thirst for human blood is her capacity for guilt. She does her best to avoid the human world, for everyone's sake.

When Ava accidentally enslaves a human while saving him from a vampire, she realises she has to look for help setting him free. Despite her misgivings, she expands her world but finds herself dragged into a possible vampire civil war. With the help of some new friends with ambiguous loyalties, she tries to find a way to keep her human, and herself, alive.

I actually have been wanting to read this one since before last month. I just realized I never added to my GoodReads till then. I'm actually happy this one got picked because it is a Vampire Read. I try to at least read one vampire read a month because I'm doing the Vampire Reading challenge hosted by Parajunkee.  This book seems like it will be an interesting read.

Next I found out about the 2014 Witches & Witchcraft Reading Challenge hosted by Melissa's Eclectic Bookshelf.  I thought that this challenge sounded like a lot of fun. I have been wanting to get into reading more witch books this year so this will give me the push I need to get started. Im just going to be entering on a initiate level which is 1-5 books. I might read more but who knows really. If you interested in looking into to this challenge more you can click on the picture below.

Next I decided I wanted to read at least 2 classics this year as well. Yay Classics!

2.

Also I wanted to join in on more read-a-thons this year as well to help me read more this year.

And then there were Vampires!
I found a vampire challenge that sounds perfect for me! It is hosted by parajunkee.com
  1. The challenge is to read 10 books that have a VAMPIRE as a main, or supporting character
  2. Books can be in any format and should be at least 100 pages. Short stories do not count. You can also post about rereads.
Like I said before this challenge sounds perfect for me and I'm excited to get in on it.
