Review:

This story takes place in the same world as Cinder. It is a retelling of the Little Mermaid but with androids and cyborgs. I think that this story was different enough from the Little Mermaid to were it wouldn't boring. I found myself finishing this novella in one sitting because you want to know what will happen next.

The main character for this novella is named Mech6.0 but she ends up calling herself Star. Star found herself liking Dataran, her higher rank engineer. Of course this isn't natural for an android they say an android can be dangerous if unpredictable. I really liked her character and felt bad for her a lot of the time.

This story was really good. It makes a great edition to the Cinder world. If you haven't read it yet then I would highly recommend it. If your a fan of Cinder, then read this novella! You won't be disappointed.

Review:

I cannot believe this book! I can easily say that this book is better than the first one. But that is just crazy talk because I loved the first one right? Well its not just crazy talk I loved this one more.

This book is told in different perspectives of Scarlet, Cinder, Kai and even Queen Levana herself. I found this book being a fun read switching between two stories at once. What was going on with Cinder and then switching over to Scarlet. It was really well done and I thought it made the story more complex.

This book takes place more outside of the eastern commonwealth that you get introduced to in the first book. You get to learn more about Europe and particularly Paris which is  were a majority of Scarlet's story takes place. I enjoyed the fact the this world expands further than the first book which is what a good second book is suppose to do.

I found myself really enjoying Scarlet's character I thought she was very carefree in the way she makes decisions. She just wants to do anything to help her grandmother. Speaking of her grandmother, I really loved how complex the story goes with hiding Cinder.

Scarlet and Wolf well their relationship happens really fast less than a week. I still loved it though, usually I'm not very impressed with the lovesick puppies story but this one was way different. I loved how mushy they were at the end ♥. They have a pretty crazy story together full of secrets and betrayal. Which really shocked me because I do really love Wolf's character (Z). Yea his main story is told in the Queen's Army by Marissa Meyer. I can not tell you how much I loved the fact that novella puts such a good background story with this one character in a book. Wow.

Another new character who needs some mention since you meet him at the very beginning is Throne. He is a very fun character, he thinks hes a ladies man and isn't afraid to flirt with any of them. I found his character to be very amusing and I think he helped me keep reading as well.

The story for this book was more than I expected. Yes its a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, but besides that story the one about the Wolf Pack. Yes I really enjoyed that section of the book a lot because of how intense and gruesome it was. It was a very big surprise and I would have to say that part alone is worth the read.

All I have to say for this book is that if you haven't read this after Cinder then you need to jump on it. Also why can't have the next book now! I wouldn't say it ends with a cliffhanger but it makes you want to read the next one.

I gave this book 5 out of 5 bats. (I would have gave it more if I could handle that many bats.)

Wow this story was pretty crazy. It also introduces you to a new character who is going to be in Scarlet as well. Its about Ze'ev who got enlisted into Queen Levana'a army. The plans that she has for this army is pretty crazy. I was rather surprised by this, but it also makes since for what the benefits of mixing a wolf and human would mean. This story diffidently make you want to run off and go read Scarlet if you didn't already feel that way after finishing Cinder. I would have to say that this is a must read after Cinder to give you look into what is going to happen in Scarlet.

This novella is a must read if you have read Cinder. It shows more of what happened when Cinder first arrived at her new home with Adri. I loved reading what actually happened since this scene is mentioned in the book. I thought that it was messed up how Adri treated Cinder since she first arrived but that is how she is all the time. This novella was diffidently a good insight on how Cinder feels a lot of the time. I really enjoyed reading this I thought it was fun seeing Cinder, Peony, and Prince Kai as little kids.

Review

Well let me first start out by saying I loved this book. A Faity-Tale retelling of Cinderella, in a futuristic world with a plague going around. Yes sounds like the perfect book to me.

The Story take place in Behjing called the eastern common wealth. It is a place were all the countries of the world decided to make peace. This world is pretty amazing, it set in the future so they cyborg and androids within it.

Then there is also the fact that there is people living on the moon. They are not regular people though their like a new race called lunars. They have an evil queen who has been threatening war on earth unless certain demands are met. Her character in this book made me think a lot of the any evil queen from any story book. She wants things her way and thats it, she doesn't care who she has to murder to get things done her way.

The Lunars escape to Earth to run away from their queen. History shows that whenever people are introduced to each for the first time sickness spreads. That is exactly what happens in this case they bring a terrible plague with them that really has no cure. It also has no patterns on who it hits.

The main character Cinder I really enjoyed reading. I loved how shes a tom-boy but not to tuff. She is a mechanic and she also part cyborg. Being cyborg is not a good thing in this world though you are often looked down upon and are thought of as lesser. Besides all that I think that shes had to go through a lot of different things in life and deserves respect.

The Fairy-Tale retelling aspect of this book was really well done. I loved the unique twists that were added to the storyline. It made it so you weren't reading the same story again.

So since this book is a retelling of Cinderella of there is a prince. His name is Prince Kai, and I have to say he is prince charming. He is rather young but he is smart and reasonable with the choices he makes within this book.

Prince Kai and Cinder don't have a huge lovey dovey relationship within this book. Which works just fine. They don't jump into things to fast which can often bring a lot of books down. They were really still just in the liking phase when this book ends. I really want to read more about the two of them.

My other favorite character besides Cinder was Iko she is Cinder's android with a personality that is kind of out there. I really think she helped the book be more funny and also entertaining. Shes a great character and I loved reading about her.

This book is now one of my favorites. It world is different than anything I've read. The characters within it had good description and good character building. I loved this book and I think its a book that every one should read at least once.
